Pagans at the Parliament
The first Parliament of the World’s Religions, held in Chicago in 1893, gave birth to the global interfaith movement. The Parliament continues to be held every few years in a different city, bringing together thousands of representatives of the world’s many religions, and pagans have played an important – and sometimes controversial – role in these modern events. Andras Corban-Arthen, one of the two pagans who serve on the Parliament’s Board of Trustees, will discuss the remarkable 20-year relationship between the Parliament and the pagan movement, the impact that pagans have had on the Parliament and vice versa, why it’s important for pagans to participate in both local and worldwide interreligious dialogues, and how they can go about doing so.

The Labyrinth as a Spiritual Tool
The labyrinth is an ancient tradition having spanned many different countries, cultures and religions for the past 3000 years. In the modern era it is now making a comeback as a spiritual tool which speaks
powerfully to the mind and soul. This two hour long workshop will include a blessing ceremony, an introduction to using and creating a labyrinth, and a chance to walk the labyrinth and explore its mysteries.
RA/REV LAWRENCE HARNEY
Travel within through a guided meditation to discover your inner depths and open your spirit to more direct connection with your waking self. Also includes a discussion of meditation styles and techniques and a Q/A period..
Art, Magic and Religion: Sacred Images
Most cultures created images to enhance their practices- from voodoo dolls and ex votos to icons and idols, sacred images, from Michaelangelo to Inuit carving fetishes, people have used images to create tangible links to the intangible world. We will examine historical practices and modern pagan adaptations and innovations.
Healer or Soothsayer
Roles in Community Divination can provide information not otherwise available, but often the method of getting this information changes its reception. It can be taken as the Word of God, tricks taking advantage of the credulous, just another source of information, or even the work of the devil. Healing a body and healing spirit are intertwined, and both are intertwined with the energies of people around them. These roles are linked, but different. As we respond to the call to take up one of these mantles, we need to know what it's going to mean.
Runic Divination/ Rune casting
Learn to do divination by casting rune sticks. This is a traditional Norwegian system, not the modern “rune tiles” method, and gives a far more nuanced and accurate reading. I’ll both cover how to make your own rune staves and have some with which attendees may practice. Knowing the runes already would be helpful, but isn’t required.
STARSEED AND FAMILY
Melody Yoga! (or “The Magic and Wisdom of Simple Melodies)
No Sanscrit mantras, yantras or asanas needed here, just the ability to hum or even just imagine a simple melody. Shaman Starseed will discuss and demonstrate his discovery that melodies are 'alive' and brimming with wisdom and energy as accessible as our own breath. Simple melodies, especially traditional folk dance tunes passed down through untold generations, hold much more potential as tools of transformation than is commonly realized. You do NOT have to be a musician to participate and garner some usefulness from this workshop, but you will need a modicum of focus and imagination. Discussion points include electromagnetic fields, patterns to live by, Kabalah, emotional issues, yin and yang and of course, how this all relates to a broad and cosmic reassessment of those quirky little tunes that just don't seem to ever go away.
