The Panthean Temple will welcome the Wolf Conservation Center of South Salem, NY and their six-year old Arctic gray wolf, Atka, with handler Josh, on April 30th. The program will include an awe-inspiring, up-close encounter with this important but misunderstood predator. People will learn about the history of wolves in the United States, the importance of wolves in a healthy ecosystem and the efforts to save these magnificent creatures for future generations.

"The Lore of the Crooked Man" & "The Wisdom of Mother Goose - Popular Paganism" Scholars can tell us something of the practices of the ancient Egyptians, Chinese Sumerians, the Celts, Scandinavians or of the many societies whose practices survive in no written documents, but how can we learn about the suppressed pagan "undercurrent" that persisted until the nineteenth century and that may still find occasional expression as it emerges from the collective unconscious or creative imagination of neo-pagans? To provide insight into the few literary artifacts of this buried tradition Mockingbird will offer two connected workshops: "The Lore of the Crooked Man" and "The Wisdom of Mother Goose." For those unfamiliar with Mockingbird it could be stated that he is an amateur musician who enjoys offering music in rituals, and that he is the pagan aspect of Francis Braunlich, a scholar of the organization of symbols in religious writings of many traditions and of their not infrequent expression in many "secular" contexts.

Zs keynote speech - Springtime is a joyous occasion to renew ourselves and our Holy purpose. At the start of the 21st century, we as Pagans need to cast our sights forward deeper into the future. We have a double destiny; the magic of the Planet is our number one duty to uphold and foster. The healing of our species from the wounds of war and abuse is our second destiny. This will take everybody!

Women’s circle - When women gather in a circle holding hands, we manifest the gracious Goddess of Nature. In an all women circle (Dianic), we invoke the four watchtowers by zodiac signs and all women participate. All women will have an important role. The circle will be a communal blessing on each individual and whatever is needed in our personal lives. Z will share the rituals she is using in her circles, songs and acts of magic. Come to this circle wearing your crown of green leaves or flowers.

THE FOOL & THE BUTTERFLY: - The Major Arcana & The Emergence of the Self (2 hours) All Levels Understand the Major Arcana as a map for self-discovery, and explore the phases of your life's path through the archetypal journey from caterpillar to butterfly.

TAROT FOR PERSONAL HEALING -(2 hours) Intermediate to Advanced - This class offers an overview of the seven chakras and their relationship to physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. Participants will learn how the Tarot can be laid out to create a "picture" of the human energy system in order to detect blocks, patterns, and shifts in the energetic field, and to identify their manifestations in day-to-day life. An excellent class for professional readers and energy workers.

ALL-AGES BEGINNER TAROT (2 hours) Beginner to Intermediate - Learn the structure of a standard deck, the basics of the four suits, and a key word for each of the 78 cards. This class will focus on developing a general understanding of the Tarot through simple association techniques, intuition, and the use of one-, three-, and 5-card spreads.

Children's class “Learning to feel and play with energy” We will teach children the basics of how to sense their own energy and others, how to ground and center themselves and how they can use their own energy to help their boo boos to feel better. Parents are welcome to come and sit with their child.” * Important note* We will be touching hands.

Germanic Magic – this class will discuss magical practices from a Germanic perspective focusing especially on traditional German spells and charms as well as more modern practices including Pennsylvania Dutch Pow-wow. The main theme will be protection and healing and participants will learn different charms and spells including how to make a traditional witch’s bottle.

Traditional and Modern Seidhr Practices - Seidhr is a powerful form of Norse magic which can be used for different purposes. We will look at the history of seidhr and what is known of it from literature as well as discuss some of the modern revivals of the practice going on today. We will also discuss the connection of seidhr to oracular spa, a divination practice which uses the seers ability to contact different spirits to obtain answers to questions.

Oracular Spá Session – This class will involve the seer going into trance and answering questions from the audience. The spá session will last one hour and the size of the group will determine the number of questions each person is able to ask.

Animal Magic for Children and Adults – animals are all around us, and are an important part of our physical and spiritual lives. In this class we will look at the energy of different animals, how to use that energy to strengthen and empower ourselves and how to honor the special animal spirits around us. Everyone who attends will receive a small notebook to use as an animal journal and we will draw a picture of our favorite spirit animal.

Spiritual Astrology – Ever wonder what your spiritual talents/paths are? What about your talents, psychic ability and spiritual point of view? This class will review the 8th, 9th and 12th houses (Psychic, Spiritual and Service/Karma houses) and the planets Neptune, Moon, Uranus and Mercury. These will give you your spiritual picture as we discuss all the planets and houses in depth.

Past Life and Soul Groups – Have you ever thought “Why did that person come into my life?” or “It seems like I’ve known this person forever!” This could be because you’ve experienced a past life with them! We’ll explore how past live contracts can affect this life, what a Soul Group is and why we have them and how we can break or change those contracts.

Sacred Circle Dance - Dances from many cultures as well as contemporary pieces created in the spirit of ancient folk dance. Each Dance is taught and time is spent to acquaint dancers with the spirit and background of the dance if it is known.

The Wisdom of Dreams - Unlock the mysteries of the dreaming mind. This 1 hour workshop blends Jungian psychoanalytic dream interpretation with traditional Earth-centered symbolism to provide a balanced and practical approach to dream interpretation. Workshop will include basic information on dream symbols and allow participants the opportunity to explore the meaning and wisdom within their own dreams.

The Full Spirited Four-Fold Goddess - The introduction of an original new paradigm to augment The Triple Goddess: a goddess with four faces that correspond to and embrace all four directions, elements, seasons, and suits of the tarot. She also represents the four stages of a woman’s life: the Maiden, the Mother, the Queen, and the Crone. When all four aspects are joined, She is complete: physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

A Woman’s Guide to Power: Claim It! Embrace It! Use It! We women are often afraid of our own power. Afraid to be thought of as pushy or bitchy if we assert ourselves willfully. But wise women wield power wisely and the planet is in desperate need of our wisdom. We have held back long enough. We must claim our rightful duties as healers, leaders, and visionaries. We have the whole world in our hands.

A Royal Coronation Ceremony - Buoyed by mutual encouragement and spirited support, we will summon up, name, and claim our strengths and forgive ourselves our weaknesses. We will stoke the fires of our fierce pride, and empower our selves and each other. We will drum up the passion to fuel our power, and chant the patient persistence to maintain it. And we will crown ourselves with our own authority.

Juggling for the Complete Klutz - This is a kids class, but adults can join in too if they like - if you have two hands you can learn how to juggle! All ages and for anyone who can hold a ball in each hand at the same time. No talent required to learn! (balls will be provided - insert favorite pun here)

Essential Oils 101 - Taking a close look at 5 of the most common essential oils. This will include
healing with essential oils, aromatherapy, and magical use. Common base oils will be explained.

Pagan Grimm - While Brothers Grimm set out to collect folk tales and tidy them up to fit with the
Potestant Christian values they hold dear, such vivid stories from Pagan roots refused to go quietly. Here we examine the Pagan symbols and imagery in Snow White.

Part 1. While civil rights abuses are nothing new, in a post 9/11 world, the ACLU and various other civil rights advocacy groups have seen a massive increase in cases where American Citizens (and non citizens) have been denied their civil rights, or had those rights abused. We will discuss very briefly some of the largest infractions that have been very public battles, and the importance of knowing ones civil rights, and not being intimidated into giving them up. We will also distribute materials from the ACLU and NLG regarding basic civil rights (warrants, searches, arrests, detainments, etc) and legal resources, and as time permits, discuss some "Scenarios" in which this could be useful.

Part 2. For many years, Pagan religions were one of the most frequently discriminated religious denomination in the US. Great progress has been made in many areas, however, it is clearly still a hot button issue for many. This Workshop is intended as more of a discussion, then a class. What are the challenges pagan parents may face legally? What are the issues one might face on the work place? In the Military? In housing, in their community - event organizing, police interactions - what are some of the useful suggestions on protecting and asserting ones rights, while attempting to do so in a manner which promotes harmony and respect?

Toss The Book On Stones! The Intuitive’s Guide To Stones: A workshop in which we explore several kinds of stones and crystals, and learn to listen to our intuitions about what they mean and how they can help us. Stones are part of the earth, and our faith; learn which stones to keep around for which needs, and when to toss the book altogether! Bring your own favorite stones to learn why they attract you!(1-2 hrs, either would work.)

Sacred Storytelling Workshop: How to tell sacred stories, and what makes them sacred! In this workshop discussion, we will talk about sacred stories—especially those taken from traditions not our own—and how to tell them respectfully, and what that respect consists of. We will also talk about researching these stories and the venues in which to present them. (2 hours)

Telling Your Own Story in Public—as pagans we are often called upon to speak in ceremonies, and to speak publicly in ways that a lot of other folks aren’t! Since speaking in public is a huge fear for most of us, this workshop will concentrate on how to get through it without dying of fear, and how to construct your OWN story—for instance, how you came to be on the path—so that you can tell it smoothly, comfortably, and amusingly. Bring pen, paper, and courage! (2 hours)

Performance: The Naughty and the Not-So-Nice—Kate Holly-Clark, storyteller and performer, will be telling Trickster stories from around the world! (1 hour)

Sacred Ritual Bellydance - Learn a ritual bellydance for the goddess Bast! Imakhu shares the metaphysical Women's mysteries of the ancient art of Sacred Bellydance. Metaphysics, ritual, and dance techniques taught, history, as well as meaning of behind bellydance garb. No experience needed - Yes, men may dance too! Wear comfortable clothes that show body line and bring water. Dancers, bring scarves and hip scarves if you have them. Drummers and Toners are invited to lend support and learn accompaniment. 90 min.

Water: The Path to Peace & Power - Imakhu is an initiated Water Priestess through the South African Shona/Ndebele tradition. The work of a water healer is that of building bridges to peace within and without. Learn the introspective magick of water healing, how to release emotional/mental/physical blockages, how to work with water spirits, how to build bridges of communications and peace to diverse populations. This interactive workshop culminates in a group water ritual at the stream (weather conditions permitting). 2 hrs.

Ze Old Vays Are Ze Good Vays (or “Introduction to Medieval Astrology”) - Since the Enlightenment, when the Western astrological tradition was broken, astrologers have struggled to understand and use a system that was no longer understood, and didn’t seem to work very well. In astrology’s recent comeback, the focus has been mostly on psychological interpretation, but it was prediction that was the focus of traditional astrology for nearly two millennia. Today, there are a handful of astrologers who are recovering these ancient traditions as they were once practiced, and a renewed focus on predicting. This workshop will present a brief history of Western astrology with special attention paid to the differences between classical/medieval vs. modern traditions. I will also (re)connect the Western Astrological Tradition to the Eastern (Hindu) Astrological Tradition. No prior astrological knowledge is necessary.

Time is on My Side (yes it is!) - Astrology is all about timing. But even astrologers are guilty of ignoring the opportunities that we have to work in sync with cosmic timing, rather than working against it. Whether you’re interested in when to begin a new project, take a trip, apply for that job; or when to plan your next ritual or work magic, astrology may be your hidden key to success. In this talk, you’ll learn simple techniques for smarter planning. No previous astrological knowledge required. Handouts will be provided. Bring a pen and paper.

Since most of them are crap, and pure invention of the authors, where does a poor pagan go to find out about love, sex, and all kinds of fun? To the Fifth House, of course! Come find out what classical astrology can tell you about your ability to have fun, find love, and take a walk on the wild side! No previous astrological knowledge is necessary.

Sunrise Movement Meditation - Begin your day acknowledging the powers of the seven directions. With chant and gentle movements we embrace the gifts of Earth Mother, Father Sky and all the beings of Divine Spirit to keep us centered for the day! All are welcome.

The Well Dressed Broom - We will talk about the history of the broom, it purpose, and how the broom can be a reflection of the witch. A broom, like every other tool, should be dressed. However, spiritual dressing is only the beginning. Dress your broom for the season, the ritual, or an event. Brooms makes great wedding gifts, new baby blessings, new homes, or a gift for the new initiate. You're invited to a demonstration of how to create “the well dressed broom.”

Digging for the Goddess: A group of women needed to sing a couple chants and get our hands dirty together. We'll prepare the site to recieve the Maypole as we ourselves receive the blessings we desire.

The Labyrinth as a Spiritual Tool - The labyrinth is an ancient tradition having spanned many different countries, cultures and religions for the past 3000 years. In the modern era it is now making a comeback as a spiritual tool which speaks powerfully to the mind and soul. This two hour long workshop will include a blessing ceremony, an introduction to using and creating a labyrinth, and a chance to walk the labyrinth and explore its mysteries.

Spell Crafting – Getting started: This class is part 1 of a two class series. In this class we will discuss elements, design and practice. Ingredients may vary from spell to spell but the essential elements of a spell are basically the same. A spell designed by your own hand is more potent then a bought or given one, however in this world of multitasking and instant information, time is not always on our side. Understanding a spell that is not your own can be just as important.

Spell Crafting – Candle dressing: This is part 2 of a two class series. Please bring the written spells from the first class. The student will continue their crafting lessons from design to creation. The intension is for the student to have a completed spell to start working their magic. Please bring seven dollars ($7.00) per spell for supplies.

The Major Arcana: A beginning Tarot class, discussing the Major Arcana. Let’s take a journey with the Fool and learn how to embrace the World. It is not necessary to have a deck however it is preferred, so if you have a deck or more than one, please bring them to class. You will learn what you need to continue your own studies.

Grand Bwa Ceremony - "We find this image in European culture as well - the Green Man of centuries past, or for a more modern example, in the film "Babes in Toyland", the remarkable "Forest of No Return", where the trees not only walked and talked but sang!"

Another good example of Grand Bwa in popular culture might be the Ents in "Lord of the Rings." To a Haitian, the woods at night are terrifying! Grand Bwa isn't scary though, usually, he comes out of the woods to visit us and he is very VERY POWERFUL and vigorous, but also very positive and nice and friendly.

FIRE: Intellectual, Creative, Spiritual, Divine! - Ariel Sirocco explores the precious gift that “Mythological Prometheus” gave to humanity, and promises to drag this “fiery fairy tale” and Idea into the modern age. This lecture is not a reinterpretation of current beliefs but a “revealing” of fact that is bound to make you rethink of the processes and place of Fire in magickal use.

Understanding Magickal Energy and the Observer Created Reality - How do we use our personal energy as a tool for manifesting our desires? What is the science of transfiguration? How exactly is it that prayer, spell casting, affirmations, and creative visualization work? In this lecture, we’ll explore the science of raising and directing energy – from its potential uses in spell craft to energetic healing.

Runes: the Elder Futhark. From the origin(s) of runes to the early Viking period, these characters have not only been used for mundane purposes (business correspondance and shipping labels, indicating ownership of jewelry etc.) but also for magic. We will explore both angles in this class, as well as the origins and meanings of the individual runes themselves.

Runes: the Anglo-Saxon/Frisian Futharks. This family of rune-rows was primarily derived from the Scandinavian-Continental Germanic Elder Futhark. These have the earliest documented rune names, and perhaps the widest variety in rune numbers and forms. We will also explore St. Boniface’s Letters and other early rune codes.

Runes: the Younger Futhark. In the late Vendel or early Viking period, the rune row was condensed to a 16-character array from the earlier 24-rune Elder Futhark. We will look at not only rune names/meanings, but also dotted runes, “short-twig runes, “Norse code”, magic, and mundane usage.

Divination using runes: Many people these days are using New Age rune tiles for divination. We will explore and do hands-on practice with an Anglo-Saxon tile kit as well as with Younger Futhark rune sticks.

Children’s Bardic Circle -1-1.5 hrs children will learn how to use rhyme and meter to create short phrase poems and songs to document an oral history of their spiritual path

Sacred Music as Worship - using lyric sheets provide, individuals will have the opportunity to sing together to offer up an oral sacrifice to the ears of the Gods. All songs will be from Bibliah Octavah Sacredah Vol 1 and a preview will be given of songs on Vol. 2

Guided Labyrinth “Walk” - using provided hand held labyrinths individuals will be guided on a journey through their fertile field of creativity to acquire a focus for their creative energies.

Introduction to Iron Pentacle – The Iron Pentacle is a symbol central to Reclaiming and Feri witchcraft. Composed of our five human birthrights Sex, Pride, Self, Power and Passion it organizes, embodies and is embodied as the work of a lifetime. We will explore the nature and relationship of these points of the pentacle in mediation, movement, discussion and energy work. For those so inclined, references to explore this work further will be offered at the end of the class.

Waking Our Selves Up – Get out of bed sleepy head! In this class we will do a bit of this and that preparing for the day to come. I include Yoga, stretching, Qi Gung, energy work and maybe a prayer and a song for the day in this class to help get us up and going in the morning. We can also discuss the creation and elements of a morning daily practice if there is interest.

Blot: The structure of sacrifice - This workshop provides an in-depth exploration of the Blót [Offering/Blessing] ritual currently practiced by members of the Rune-Gild, AFA, Odinic Rite, The Troth and other groups within the contemporary revival of the Germanic Tradition. We will discuss historical and mythological underpinnings for the Blót. We will examine how each specific phase in the nine-fold ritual structure works together to establish an intimate reciprocal relationship with otherworldly beings, while simultaneously illuminating and transforming the practitioner. We will explore the traditions underlying Blót as both a devotional ritual, and as a tool for operative sorcery, as a means of creating practical and observable change in the objective and subjective worlds.
Additional topics covered: The Great Blót at Uppsala: Ritual cycles of time ; Blóts for the Deities, the Dead, and the Landspirits; Greater and Lesser Blóts: Seasonal, Daily, and “Situational” offerings; Blóts for consecration: using the Blót to hallow an object or place; Oppositional Aesthetics: the secret “battery” that empowers the Blót.

Oðinsblót: traditional offering rite to Oðin - In the folk traditions of Northern Europe, the first days of May are a time of mighty magic and dark mystery. Legends tell that at this time, witches and sorcerers are summoned to sacred hills or mountains to learn their secret arts and to revel at wild unearthly feasts… it is a night of transvection and transformation, when the walls between the worlds are thin and unseen forces hear our call… It is a night fitting to honor Oðin, the All-Father, God of the Runes, of Magic, of Mystery…
Building on the work done in the Blót workshop, participants come together to perform a traditional offering rite to the God of the Runes and the Master of Magic. In a Hall hallowed by Rune-song, We gather to hear the sacred tale of Oðin’s journey to win back the Mead of the Gods. With lifted horn, we join with Him to drink from the Cauldrons of Inspiration at the heart of the Mountain of Mystery, and to return that divine essence to the garth of the Gods.
* Please note, while this ritual is a natural compliment to the Blót workshop, attendance at the workshop is not a pre-requisite for participation in the ritual. All are welcome!

Mental Breakout - Rick takes you on a comedy journey using Mentalism and Escapes. This interactive show can be 45min to 90mins long. He'll read minds, predict things before they happen and even do the Houdini's mailbag escape. You will be on a mental roller coaster from beginning to end.

Strolling Magic - Most people have seen magic on TV or on a large stage but there's nothing like witnessing the magic just inches from your eyes. Rick will stroll around and entertain your guests with card tricks and mentalism. This service is available for any kind of social gathering such as Party's, Bars, Restaurants and Corporate functions.

Kids shows - This fast interaction comedy kids magic show is 45min of comedy and loads of interaction with an interaction ending that gets the birthday boy or girl in to the act and make them the star of the show. This show is for children all ages and bound to leave you spellbound and laughing.

To Be named Later - This Show stars Ron Jaxon, Dan Houdini, Bizzaro and Rick Star. As they take you on a fast paced journey with Comedy, Magic, Escapes, Menatalism, and Bizarre Magic. This show will guarantee to amaze you from beginning to end.

Historical Magick: - From curse tablets scratched on lead sheets to poppets to spell bowls to the use of votifs, there are many systems that were in common use in ancient cultures we don't think about- let's look at some of them- some we'll want to borrow, some not.

The Happy Squirrel: - New Cards for the Tarot: From the time the cards from the Tarrocci game were adopted by soothsayers for use in divination, the meanings of the cards have changed and developed- meanings change, sometimes cards change. We can do that too- it's all in the symbols.

RunValdr Practice: - You took the RunValdr class last year or the year before- and you haven't used it. Come to this workshop and I will run you through several drills so that you will feel confident enough to use it when you go home. Distance healing. Curing migraines, Astral Travel, opening dimensional doorways, reinforcing telepathic links, attracting luck. This is a system that should be used, not just held in reserve.

RunValdr (used to be called Runic Reiki) - This is a system of energy healing like Reiki, but using Runes and another set of symbols given to Rodney Cox by Odin and Freya. This includes the attunement (there is only one in this system) and instructions on how to go out and heal using Runes. Includes attunement so you can do it immediately. While I mostly use it for healing, it is also good for many other magickal practices. You don't need to know Runes before you start, but you will need to learn them to use it.

Fighting with the Medieval Messer - The messer, a German word for knife, was a short curved sword of the late medieval period, used by members of all classes. Featured prominently among surviving fighting treatises, the techniques for this weapon are notable for their grace and flow, a beauty of movement on par with any of the Asian arts brought to these shores in the last century. Practice weapons and a handout will be provided, so participants need bring only enthusiasm and good fellowship to attend!

Introduction to Selohaar Ritual - This class will introduce the participant to the general outline of ritual as used by the Order of Selohaar - A Mystic Order of Chivalry. Drawing upon neopagan, hermetic, and medieval mystic origins, plus our own unique accents, attendees can expect to see something at once familiar, and perhaps challenging! Participants need nothing to attend, save perhaps for a notebook, if they wish.
