Ways to Help
![]()
We are a *community driven* festival.
We need your participation to make
this happen for the community at large.
"Volunteering is the ultimate exercise in democracy.
You vote in elections once a year, but when you volunteer,
you vote every day about the kind of community
you want to live in."

OUR FOCUS IS PROMOTING AND FOSTERING COMMUNITY
If you wish to join us, your focus should be the same!

To all volunteers we can only offer free admission to the festival. Camping and meals are up to you. Please see guidelines below before you contact us!
For presenters, we only offer honorariums, traveling expenses, and meals to the most well known authors and Elders, and sometimes to those who travel great distances. We suggest vending and reading to make up the difference. Be aware we actively promote those who promote us and contribute! Please see guidelines below before you contact us!
Performers and musicians often play for free or at a reduced rate. The more you are willing to ad or contribute to our festival, the more likely we will have you perform, and we will have you back every year. Gig fees do not include lodging or meals, although you may request them in exchange. Be aware we actively promote those who promote us and contribute! Please see guidelines below before you contact us!
ALL compensation is negotiated in advance,
and if you are being compensated in ANY way you must provide a contract. People who we compensate are expected to contribute more time to our festival - WE WILL PUT YOU TO WORK. Some make up expenses by vending, which is free to both presenters and performers who have first preference.
Some of the biggest names simply request hospitality or transportation costs.
So yes, we have different agreements with different people.
Please respect this.
If people didn't contribute their time this festival wouldn't happen.
And for the people who do help us every year, they can count on us to help promote them too. If you support us, we will support you!
BUT... if you will be a presenter, performer or volunteer we suggest you MAKE SURE you can FULLY COMMIT to our event. Do not make us chase you for paperwork, over email or phone.
PLEASE NOTE: Irresponsible people are not invited back.
It's more than your name, it's also ours!

Ways you can contribute
SPONSOR US!
Yes, the festival does require money to run! If you would like to see more well-known guest speakers and bands, you can help us grow. Please consider becoming a sponsor of our festival. Sponsors will be given free advertising in our program.
FESTIVAL VOLUNTEER
Want to help or can't afford admission? Never fear. We need people for set-up, break down, fire watch, security, go-fers and lots more. We ask that our volunteers put in a minimum of FOUR hours per day for the duration of the festival. Please contact us if you would like to be a volunteer.

SORRY, NO SCHOLARSHIPS!
"Time or treasure" is an old church saying. If you can't give one, you give the other. We have volunteers instead of scholarships. Sorry, but we also find it demeaning to give scholarships if someone doesn't have funds, and it does not create empowerment. Just about anyone can volunteer or can share a talent at the festival. And again, we are a community driven festival - no elitism here!
Applications for volunteers will not be accepted after April 1st.
MUSIC
Everyone loves music! If you are interested in playing at our festival, please let us know! Please send us a CD, or consider playing back up for one of our bands. Light, sound and stage people are always needed too - join our crew!
Please be aware we are fairly conservative and morally responsible in our outlook. Please keep in mind this is an educational, family friendly, positive energy, drug free, earth honoring, respectful festival. We are also culturally conservative in that we do not accept cultural appropriation. We respect indigenous cultures and invite members of those communities to participate.
As with all volunteers, you must be willing to co-operate with staff fully. You must have a good positive attitude. "Can-do" people only. Everyone here works hard, we expect you to as well. No drama, no players, no prima donnas please. Trouble makers are told never to return.
If you cancel or do not show at the festival for any reason, you will not perform again at our festival. The best names in the community honor ALL commitments, and we expect professionalism.
PERFORMERS
We are open to all sorts of performers and creative arts. They add so much to our festival! Fire people, pageantry, puppets, dancers, story tellers, and creatives of all sorts are welcome.

PRESENTERS AND TEACHERS
Applications for presenters will not be accepted after MARCH 1st
Teaching is often by invitation, but we encourage members of other local groups, covens and organizations to be actively involved.
We ask that you be as FLEXIBLE as possible for scheduling dates and times, otherwise we might not be able to include your class. Friday Morning/Afternoon and Sunday Morning are often available, and the only ones available for 2 hour time slots (as opposed to 1 hour). If you tell us you can only present on Saturday, our answer will be no.
Please contact us if you are interested in being a presenter. We reserve the right to refuse teachers or classes for any reason if we feel they do not suit our festival.
